Mehul Choksi, a fugitive Indian businessman, has maintenance dues of around Rs 63 lakh at Gokul Apartments in Malabar Hill, Mumbai, which he has not paid for over seven years. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached the property, and Choksi was arrested in Belgium on April 12, 2025, with India requesting his extradition. Choksi is wanted for allegedly defrauding the Punjab National Bank (PNB) of Rs 13,850 crore, along with his nephew Nirav Modi. The society members at Gokul Apartments are hoping to recover the unpaid maintenance dues through the legal process.
