Google Maps “Time Travel” Feature: A Journey Through History

Google has introduced a new “time travel” feature in Google Maps, allowing users to explore the historical evolution of places. This innovative tool enables users to witness how locations have transformed over time by accessing images from the past.

To utilize this feature, users can simply open Google Maps or Google Earth and search for a specific location. Within the layers option, they will find the “time lapse” selection. This functionality provides a fascinating glimpse into the past, with images of major cities like Berlin, London, and Paris dating back to 1930. The “time travel” feature offers a unique opportunity to understand the changes these places have undergone throughout the years.

In addition to this new feature, Google has also enhanced Street View by incorporating new photos captured by cars and trackers. This update provides users with a more detailed and immersive exploration experience, encompassing over 280 billion images.
