Rams Free Up Cap Space with Aaron Donald’s Contract Restructuring
The Los Angeles Rams restructured defensive tackle Aaron Donald’s contract, freeing up $9.2 million in cap space for the 2024 season.
Donald’s cap hit was initially $34.2 million, but has been reduced to $24.95 million for 2024 and will increase to $38.5 million in 2025.
This move helps the Rams in free agency and may indicate Donald’s intention to play in 2024, despite previous retirement rumors.
The Rams currently have around $19.2 million in open cap space, excluding contracts for Colby Parkinson, Darious Williams, and Kamren Curl.
The Rams have been active in the offseason, resigning Kevin Dotson and Demarcus Robinson, and adding Jonah Jackson, Colby Parkinson, Darious Williams, and Kamren Curl.
The Rams could free up an additional $32.3 million by restructuring Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp’s contracts.
