- Apple warns against putting a wet iPhone in rice, saying it could allow rice particles to damage the device
- Instead of rice, Apple recommends gently tapping the iPhone against your hand with the connector facing down to remove liquid
- The iPhone should then be left in a dry area with airflow for at least 30 minutes
- After 30 minutes, try charging the device or connecting an accessory to see if a warning still appears
- If the warning still appears, there is still liquid inside and the iPhone needs more time to dry fully
- Apple released the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro in September 2023 running the latest iOS 17 operating system
